The remote power insertion unit is designed for power input to the regeneration module at any regenerative point of the communication line, if there is a 24 VDC power supply source. The input power can be provided by the ISS-2 cable from any of the four directions, and the remaining three directions can be used as outputs for remote power supply of regeneration modules connected to these directions. The remote power insertion unit is installed in one of the four seats on the cross-board, which determines the direction from which the remote power is input.
